2014 Katoomba Meeting XX Lima, Peru - Dedline to Register: April 16

Deadline to Register Extended - Register by April 16. For 15 years, the Katoomba Group has convened global experts and leaders to advance the frontier of ecosystem services approaches. In 2014, just months before Lima hosts over 190 countries to advance international climate negotiations at the 20th Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC, the Ministry of Environment of Peru, the National Water Authority of Peru, and Forest Trends will convene the 20th Katoomba Meeting: Climate, Forests, Water, and People: A Vision for Development for Tropical America.

Forward-thinking leaders, scientists, financiers, business leaders, bilateral and multilateral donors, NGO leaders and community leaders, from Tropical America and beyond, will gather in Lima this April 22-23 to chart a course for a sustainable development that recognizes and invests in linkages between climate, forests, water, and people.

Katoomba XX will:
  • Set the stage for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change conference in Lima this December by convening regional leaders to articulate a vision for achieving integrated economic and natural resource management goals
  • Showcase Peruvian leadership (national and regional governments, private sector, and civil society) on strategies for climate, forests, water, and people
  • Share international experience and suggest new, innovative approaches for ensuring that investment supports natural infrastructure and communities
