Strengthening the capacities of developing countries to trade and compete in domestic and international markets is crucial, both for the countries themselves and for their trade partners. Winrock International, ACDI/VOCA, and Land O'Lakes have formed a Consortium to implement the Farmer-to-Farmer (FTF) Program in Russia. This program aims to retain its capacity to achieve results at the farm level (its unique people-to-people character) and support the development of agribusiness associations, cooperatives, and business support institutions that form the base of ongoing services to the agribusiness community. Short-term volunteers can contribute substantially where the hosts have clearly defined bottlenecks or gaps in agribusiness technologies and management, and organizational development.
